John
Seery-Lester
John grew up in Manchester England with
sketchbook in hand. Impressionism and nostalgic English scenes made up
much of his early work. His first trip to Africa in 1980 convinced him to
become a wildlife artist. His many awards and accomplishments include
thirteen years in the Leigh Yawkey Woodson's prestigious "Birds in
Art" show and induction into U. S. Art's "Hall of Fame".
His book, "Face to Face with Nature" is filled with outstanding
example of wildlife paintings.
John is unquestionably one of the worlds
leading wildlife artists. Always insisting on real life experiences,
he’s painted on location in Europe, North America, South America,
Africa, China, India and Antarctica.
His approach to wildlife painting might
best be summed up by a statement I heard him make in Yellowstone: If a
buffalo walks by, don't take a picture of it - paint it." And he did
just that.
